    Are you looking for a classic mandoline that will help you slice fruits and veggies with ease? Do you want a product that combines the quality of a commercial mandoline with the affordability of a home kitchen appliance? You’ll get exactly that with the KitchenAid Classic Mandoline. Available in three different colors, it’s got a good, comfortable handle that helps you grip this appliance with ease. Included is a food guard and a retractable blade guard as well for safety and convenience. You can even save 25% on this product right now just by shopping on Amazon!

    What Are the Features of the KitchenAid Classic Mandoline?

    The primary feature that you’ll notice with this kitchen appliance is that the table adjusts for varying slice sizes. Instead of having to pop out a bunch of blades to achieve the cuts that you want, this mandoline makes the entire process simple and easy! You also get handy storage containers and the design itself speaks of safety so that you won’t slice a finger accidentally while using the mandoline.

    There’s also these additional features to consider:

    • julienne blades allow for the ability to make fries or chips of two different sizes;
    • the food channel is 4.5 inches wide, giving you plenty of room to slice most veggies, fruits, and even cheese if you needed to do so; and
    • you get up to 5 different slice settings to adjust the thickness of each slice from 1/32 inch to 5/16 inch.

    KitchenAid has a reputation for making solid kitchen appliances and this mandoline definitely fits into that category. You can find better mandolines like this online right now, but you’re going to pay at least double for them and still get a pretty similar result.

    Is There an Advantage To Using the KitchenAid Classic?

    The primary advantage we saw with this unit is what some might say is a problem with it. The mandoline is a bit bigger and bulkier than others at this price point, so even though the legs adjust for storage, it makes it a difficult proposition to stick this appliance into a drawer. The bulkiness helps to give this product added stability, however, and that’s a definite advantage when you’re trying to slice through some tough veggies in a hurry!

    If there was one thing we’d change about the design of the KitchenAid Classic, it would be the design of the guard. It works as it is supposed to work, but it makes slicing some elongated vegetables a bit difficult and time consuming.

    Overall this mandoline has a lot of good things going for it. With the KitchenAid Classic being easy to adjust, stable on the counter, and the fact that it is dishwasher safe makes this kitchen appliance one of the best at its price point. For that reason, we give this mandoline slicer are recommendation today without hesitation.
